Congratulations to Abby Ellenbecker as she competed in the State Meet today at Giants Ridge. Abby started the day with a solid 49th out of 160 skiers in the skate race and then held on in crowded classic race finishing in 51st place overall. The courses are challenging, the competition the best in the State, and Abby mentioned when completed that she was exhausted and that she wouldn't have done anything differently, which is all we as a coaching staff can ask for, ones best effort and no regrets!
If you want to check out the results, you can find them here: State Meet
Also, on Wednesday we had two relay teams competing in the Charlie Banks Coaches Association Relays. Both teams finished in 8th place, with the Girls having to compete against 31 teams and the Boys against 29th. There were no individual results, but we had at least 2 top 5 finishes (Ricky 3rd, Olivia 5th), and two others that were probably in the top 10 (Lilah G and Jared).
Thanks to all of the support this season, and it has been a fun past week with the near team qualification for the Girls at the Section Meet, the number of JV/Jr High skiers that medaled on Saturday, the fun at the Pastry Relays, the solid performances at the Charlie Banks Relays and topping it off with Abby's all around performance at the State Meet! These are great things to celebrate and such a positive way to end the season, and things that can be built off of. The opportunity for improvement and even greater success is there, who is up for the challenge?!!
Thanks,
Denny
