Week of June 28

Practices this week will continue to be at 3:45pm this week.  Tuesday and Thursday will be at Bunker, Golf Course Parking Lot 1, with Tuesday on foot with poles and Thursday on wheels.  We will be watching the weather just in case there is anything that comes through during practice times.  Expect about an hour and 15 min workout.

One other item of note, due to the Fourth of July, there are no organized practices the week of July 5th. This is a no contact time period set forth by the State High School League.  The Coaches will have ideas for workouts for everyone during this time, or you can contact me.

Week of June 21st

Here is the plan for the week of June 21st.  We will be watching the weather for Thursday, but currently are planning to have a practice then.  We are continuing to start at 3:45 and this week look for practices to be around an hour and 15 min.

Tuesday, Bunker, Golf Course Parking Lot 1, Skate Roller Skiing.  Main focus will be no pole, but please bring poles as well.

Thursday, Wintercrest Park (behind HOM).  We will be on foot with poles, classic focus.

Week of June 14th

Temps are looking a "little" bit better this week, but still rather warm.  Due to this and being still early in the training, this upcoming week will be low intensity with a little bit of distance, but a lot of technique.  Both days will be at Bunker, meeting at the Golf Course Parking Lot 1 and will be at 3:45.  Please remember to bring water and something to carry it with!

Tuesday moved to Wednesday

Due to coach availability, we are changing Tuesdays practice to Wednesday, same time, same location, same workout. Many breaks will be taken, but make sure that everyone has plenty of water.

First Summer Workouts

Well, with the end of the school year, it means we are at the point of the year to start our summer training.  Our first summer workouts will be this week, Tuesday, June 9th, and Thursday, June 11th, both at 3:45 and both at Bunker, Golf Course Parking Lot 1.  Coaches Nelson and Abby will be running the workouts. 

We are paying attention to the heat for this week, but knowing that both of these workouts are going to be more technique based and not a lot of intensity, we felt moving forward with at least setting up these workouts will be doable.  A reminder, though, these workouts are all optional, and if someone is not feeling comfortable with the heat, than we are good with that.  For those that do come, please, please, please remember to bring either a water pouch, carrier, or pack, or to bring a water bottle with a back pack to carry with.  We will be taking multiple water breaks, and will try to spend as much time as we can in the woods of Bunker.

For Tuesday's workout, we will be doing a pole hike lesson and pole hike itself.  What will be needed are running shoes and apparel and shorter ski poles.

For Thursday's workout, we will be working solely on double pole, thus a lot of technical work.  What will be needed are rollerskis (or blades for anyone new), shorter poles with road tips, and a helmet.  If someone is still in need of rollerskis or poles, please let me know before Thursday so we can set up a way for them to get the equipment they need.
