The Boy's team was in a very tight race finishing in 4th out of 6 teams but only 12 points out of first as a team. The Girl's were shorthanded today and finished in 5th out of 6 teams, but were not that far out of 4th place.
Both teams showed a lot more grit today coming off of camp and a long weekend. We know that it wasn't going to be a perfect day missing may of our top skiers, especially on the Girl's side, but they all worked and fought to the finish, with many of the first years doing more than their last skate race. There are still a few things that we want to work on with their techniques, as well as strategies, but they are improving and we just need to stay positive as we get through this next couple of weeks. Hopefully the weather will allow us to get out on snow more than not, but whatever we are given, we will keep working and get to where we can give everyone their best opportunity for reaching goals.
Information on the Mesabi Invite will come out on Wednesday or Thursday morning. We are shuffling things up a little with who is able to ski, so some may get added or shifted to a different race. Also, hopefully start lists will be available by then.
